US President Donald Trump predicts that he will “have a lot of calls and meetings (AR) happening” on his social media platform on Sunday and that he will “do a deal” on his social media platform.
He also advocated successful mediation efforts in the past, and recently, between India and Pakistan, after hostility among nuclear-armed rivals escalated last month.
Trump wrote:
“Iran and Israel should make a trade and, like I made India and Pakistan, in that case, I will use the US to use reason, unity and sanity to make a decision and give a talk to two excellent leaders who could quickly make decisions and stop! It hurts long-term prospects with some very stupid decisions and get credit for anything, but it’s fine, people will be in the Middle East again!”
Previously, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Iran that he would “pay a very heavy price” for the civilian casualties that Iran caused in last night’s air attack.
Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian has announced a “severe and more serious” response in case Israeli attacks continue.
Cyprus President Nikos Christodourides told reporters on Sunday morning that he would “convey a message” from Iran in response to requests for Tehran’s Benjamin Netanyahu when he later spoke to him over the phone. This request was then rejected by the Iranian government for the surprise of Cypriot officials.
