The Paris Air Show will open on Monday at Le Bourgette Airfield, with over 2,400 exhibitors from 48 countries scheduled to showcase the latest innovations during the week’s showcase.
The event is the world’s largest and most prestigious showcase for the aerospace and defense industry.
The ongoing rivalry between European Airbus and US-made Boeing aircraft manufacturers will be further strengthened at the event as the companies announce important new orders.
Boeing expects global demand for air travel to rise by more than 40% by 2030.
However, global tensions, trade tariffs and Air India crashes have left the event shadowed.
The crash fell a few minutes after last week’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner passenger jet took off, bringing the spotlight back to Leaguered US makers. However, it was not immediately clear why the plane crashed.
Meanwhile, France has closed the positions of four major Israeli companies at its Paris show as it displays clearly offensive weapons, a decision that Israel condemned.
“France is probably hidden behind political considerations to remove Israeli offensive weapons from international exhibitions: weapons that compete with the French industry,” Israel said in a statement Monday.
The other three Israeli stands that have not shown weapons remain open.
The French court of appeals ruled on Friday against a group of activists who tried to stop Israeli businesses from joining the show due to the ongoing Israeli-Hamas war in Gaza.
