One of the most memorable sequences in Cyberpunk 2077 is the robber who drives most of its plot. It neatly introduces some of the game’s most important cast members, presents the futuristic technology possibilities of its setting, and does all this in a dramatic way. So, robbery is a recurring theme in cyberpunk fiction, from pioneering novel neuromancers to Invisible Inc, Shadowrun: Hong Kong and, more recently, tactically based sci-fi games. Cyber Knight: Flash Point. Currently, CyberKnight has just hit 1.0 on Steam, along with positive user reviews and release discounts, so anyone trying to get into these latest ones is lucky.
Cyber Knights: Flashpoint is a tactical strategy game set in a dystopian future where environmental collapse and the rise of massive work have dramatically changed the world. The player works as a mercenary, navigating the underworld, with a customizable team of teammates, taking on the robbery tasks.
Aside from combat, which features deep character construction, one of the more fascinating aspects of Cyber Knight is its narrative system that sees changes in the player’s team and the underworld’s population based on decisions and events such as injuries and conversation choices that take place throughout the game.
All this seems to be working well. The 1.0 version of Cyber Knights was released this week, but has so far received 94% or “very positive” user ratings on Steam.
Cyber Knights: FlashPoint is available at a 20% discount on Steam from now until Monday, June 16th, with prices reduced to USD 23.99/£19.99. Get a copy here.
