Last month, federal authorities in the United States arrested the man they arrested, claiming they had supplied the chemicals used to make explosives and tested California in the bomber’s garage months before the attack, claiming they had tested them in the bomber’s garage several months before the attack.
The explosion caused major damage to a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, crushing windows in a nearby building, and officials called offensive terrorism.
California bomber Guy Edward Burtos exploded on May 17th. Authorities arrested his collaborator, Daniel Park, Washington State Park on Tuesday after being handed over from Poland, where he fled four days after the attack.
Park spent years of ammonium nitrate, a chemical that can be used to make explosives – shipped to Bertox, 25, and later visited him at Twantin Nin Palms in San Bernardino County, California.
According to Akil Davis, assistant director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), he stayed there for about two weeks, and the two reportedly conducted experiments with creating bombs in Bartkus’ rooms and separate garages.
Park, 32, was taken into custody at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York on Tuesday night. He appeared in Brooklyn’s first federal court on Wednesday.
Authorities searched a park home in Kent, a suburb of Seattle, and found “an explosive recipe similar to the bombing of Oklahoma City.”
Park shipped 180 pounds (82 kg) of ammonium nitrate to Batks in January, and bought an additional 90 pounds (41 kg) of chemicals.
According to the FBI, their investigation reveals that the park is actively purchasing ammonium nitrate online on several purchases between October 2022 and May 2025.
Park and Bartkus met on an online forum dedicated to the anti-Natalist movement, and bonded to “a shared belief that people should not exist.”
Anti-Natalism is a fringe theory that opposes childbirth and population growth and believes people should not continue to flourish. Officials said Berthos intentionally targeted American reproductive centers. This is a clinic that provides services to help people become pregnant, including in vitro fertilization and fertility assessments.
However, investigators have not revealed whether Bertus intended to commit suicide in the attack or why he chose a particular facility. He also reportedly tried to live stream the explosion but failed, the FBI said.
According to court documents, the park looked like a frequent poster for the anti-Natalist Reddit forum. In 2016 he spoke about recruiting others into the movement.
“When people are lost and distraught, death is always an option,” he is said to have written.
More recently, this March, Park posted to the group that he was “trying to find “protests or solo events” in Washington and surrounding area.” However, this post did not generate any public responses.
