The Ukrainian Air Force issued an air warning overnight on Monday, warning several regions of the threat of ballistic missiles and Shahed attack drones.
In a speech on Sunday evening, Ukrainian President Voldymir Zelenki also urged Ukrainians to be aware of air raid warnings over the coming days.
He said Kiev is continuing to work to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses. “We need a urgent need for a positive signal from the US regarding air defense systems. We are still waiting to respond to requests to buy a system we can help.”
Apart from Kiev, Russia’s latest attacks have targeted western Ukraine, particularly. At least one person has been reportedly injured in the city of Livne, northwestern Ukraine, near the border with Belarus.
The Polish military’s operational order said it had scrambled fighter jets in response to Russian air attacks in western Ukraine.
