Russia launched another mass missile and drone attack on Ukraine on Tuesday, targeting Kiev and Odesa in particular.
Ukrainian air defense forces reported on Tuesday morning that they had intercepted 284 of the 322 air targets launched by Moscow.
Russia used 315 Shahed-type strike UAVs in the attack last night, various types of decoid drones, two KN-23 ballistic missiles and five Iskander-K cruise missiles.
The Ukrainian capital was the main target.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported emergency services were working in several districts following the attack.
Kiev authorities issued a warning to residents early Tuesday morning, urging people to stay in the bomb shelter, saying that a wave of drones was heading towards the city.
Odesa, in southern Ukraine, was also attacked overnight when the attack killed two people. Governor Odesa said the emergency medical station management building was “completely destroyed” and that the attack on Russia caused damage to the maternity hospital.
Ukrainian President Voldymeierzelensky said it was “one of the biggest attacks on the Odesa, the Dnipro region and the Chernichv region.”
He pointed out that of the seven missiles launched by Russia, two are North Korea-made ballistic missiles.
“It’s important that the response to this and other similar Russian attacks is concrete action rather than silence from the world,” Zelensky said.
Action from the United States, which has the power to drive Russia to peace. Action from Europe has no choice but to be powerful. Actions from others around the world that Russia ignored, calling for diplomacy and the end of war. ”
“There must be strong pressure for peace,” he concluded.
The updated air attack comes one day after Russia recorded 499 drones and missiles against Ukraine on Monday night.
