A US judge called Justin Bardoni’s $400 million (370 million euros) delinquent loss lawsuit against Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds legally inadequate.
The ruling, made on Monday, June 9, marks the dramatic turn of the months-long legal feud surrounding the 2024 film It’ll end with us.
Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit called “fake” by Lively’s legal team
The lawsuit, filed in January, accused Lively and Reynolds of “destroying” Bardoni’s career and attempting to hijack the film he directed. Bardoni also sued. New York Times For $250 million (219.4 million euros), it claims to have published an honor-loss article based on Lively’s “selfish story.”

The legal battle between Bardoni and Lively began in December 2024 when Lavilly filed a civil rights lawsuit accusing her of sexual harassment on the set and launching a smear campaign when she spoke. Her filing included hundreds of text messages allegedly showing Bardoni’s PR team “built” her.
Bardoni denied all allegations and responded with his own honour and loss lawsuit. However, the court allowed Bardoni to rehearse several claims related to contract interference and implicit breach of the contract.
At one point, the incident even involved pop star Taylor Swift.
The ongoing Fallout sparked intense public debate, especially given the film’s subject matter, domestic abuse and survival.
