Jim Jalmusch’s comedy drama Brothers of father’s mother’s brother According to Ephe Cacarel, founder of Mbi, they head towards the competition in Venice.
Cakarel confirmed that the film will be participating in the competition in the Book Note Speech (6th June) at SXSW London, telling viewers that it has been “already confirmed.”
The film by Jarmusch, whose producer is Mbi, is a three-storey anthology starring Cate Blanchett, Adam Driver and Vicky Krieps. It follows an estranged brother who reunites for years. Match Factory represents sales.
The production companies are Badjetlag and CG Cinema from Jarmusch along with Saint Laurent Prods, Mubi and Apartment. Co-produced by Ireland’s Hail Mary. The film is also backed by Screen Ireland and received stock funding from Cinema Inutile.
Cacarel also confirmed Paolo Sorrentino. Blessing, There are also films where Mbi purchased the global rights to exclude Italy “probably” towards Venice.
