It’s easy to forget how many steam megahumans Euro Truck Simulator 2 in fact. With tens of thousands of people playing it anytime and ratings of 97% from over 650,000 user reviews, SCS software’s detailed cargo transport SIM is still powerful. I love driving across the continent with my brain turned off and delivering valuable cargo, and others tend to agree. The future of ETS2 also looks incredibly bright as SCS has finally bullied the mechanic we’ve been waiting for.
In a new blog post on Saturday, May 31st, SCS software will drop the future mysterious bullying of Euro Truck Simulator 2. It’s not entirely clear when that’s happening, but the team has confirmed that coaches and buses are coming to the simulation game. We’ve been asking for it for years, and some modifications have helped us make it happen, but this seems true.
The studio also has a teaser video of the feature, indicating that it is likely that coaches will come out from behind the truck before disappearing off-screen, bringing passengers across the continent. “We crossed borders, carried cargo and explored countless cities across Europe,” writes SCS. “But, just like a great journey, the roads are always full of surprises. Different things are drawn into your vision. A new way to experience the world of Euro Truck Simulator 2. See you at your next destination.”
The watermark at the bottom of the teaser says it’s “work in progress,” so we don’t know when the feature will come out or how it will still work. That being said, I think these coaches’ journeys will be long based on images from the trailer with passports and travel guides.
Most cities in Euro Truck Simulator 2 have some kind of bus stop, so it’s not surprising at all while SCS ultimately teases some kind of coach update or expansion. I just want to know if it has a prolonged smell, if the child is screaming lungs throughout the trip, or if it comes with a coach’s toilet that is fully functional but no one can use. Only then will the ETS2 coach’s journey become as realistic as possible.
It’s not just the coaches who come to the SCS software transport series, but because Sister Game American Truck Simulator also has a new array of vehicles that you can work with us. Called the “Project Road Trip,” it helps introduce new cars to the game and make them more engaging, along with potential new tasks and jobs. I hope that ETS2 coaches will get a similar system.
