In 2024, the Green Bay Packers finished 11-6. This was three out of four NFC North teams. Packer sneaks into the playoffs as #7 seed

Green Bay lost 22-10 to the ultimate Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. One post-season topic was CB Jaire Alexander and his desire to extend his contract. Both sides were unable to reach an agreement. On Monday morning, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported by the Packers, who are scheduled to release Alexander in seven seasons.

The injuries began to pile up for former Packers CB Jaire Alexander. Since the 2021 season, he has played in 34 of 68 possible games. In 2021, Alexander played in just four games due to a shoulder injury. He bouncing back in 2022 and started 16 of the Packers’ 17 games. However, the 28-year-old has played just 14 games in his last two seasons. Seven in 2023 and seven in 2024.

Alexander missed 10 regular season games in 2023. He suffered nine injuries and one stopped. In 2024, Jaylie Alexander played just seven games for Green Bay. He has not played in regular season games since November 17th. Jaylie Alexander needed surgery and went to IR in the final week of the season. The injuries were stacked for Alexander and the Packers were ready to move on.

Both sides tried to negotiate a contract to keep Alexander in Green Bay. He was in the book in 2025 for $17.5 million. The money was not guaranteed. By releasing two Pro Bowlers, the Packers will add more than $17 million in cap space next season. When healthy, Jayer Alexander is a playmaker for defense. His biggest hurdle over the past four seasons is that he is still as healthy as he is on the field. Where will Jaylie Alexander play in 2025?
