Delta Force Developer Team Jade has warned players against modifying the game files of the free play shooter after catching some to change assets in the game. Team Jade has found that they know they’re maliciously editing the game like this, as some players share how to change the game online.
Delta Force enjoys quite a bit of steam at this point as enthusiastic players continue to revisit Shooters. Multiplayer FPS games have reached new all-time highs on Valve’s platform. Team Jade continues to update and improve the experience. But that isn’t all good as some bad actors are modifying the game’s INI file to make favorable changes to the game.
Team Jade has written a new statement warning players not to tweak these files to violate the game or face any other consequences.
“We recently discovered that some players claim that changing the in-game configuration INI file can optimize game performance. However, after investigation by the security team, we found that most players maliciously modify the ‘xxx.ini’ file, making illegitimate changes to in-game scenarios, such as grass, trees, smoke, characters, and scene brightness during matches.
“Our security team has discovered that some players promote and teach these methods on public social media platforms. A small number of players spread tutorials on their websites and benefit from them. These actions seriously violate the balance of the game and seriously disrupt the balance of the game and the fair and healthy gaming environment that strives for all players.
“The security team here asks all players to follow the game guidelines and not modify the game configuration INI file without approval, or engage in similar violations. Once discovered, the violator will face a seven-day account ban.
Team Jade also asks players to report all in-game actions and inappropriate actions in order to maintain a fair environment for everyone. To conclude the statement, the studio promises to “continue to take action against all violations of the game rules” in the future.
