Over the past 22 years, Eve Online has evolved from a simple spatial MMO to a true universe in parallel with our own. It has its own economy and business. The galaxy is divided into player-maid governments, factions, and pseudo-society. If you want to break into Eve online today, in 2025 you have a lot to learn – there are barriers to entering. It is set far, far, but far In the future, even the advanced civilization that colonized the universe’s most distant reach collapse, Eve Frontier It represents a new start to CCP’s flagship. Eve Frontier is already accessible through the early founder program, but is about to destroy the cover and make it public in full.
While some MMO elements remain (permanent universe, thousands of players, open-ended exploration), CCP says Eve Frontier is closer to a survival game in many ways. Resources are scarce. Death is quick. Like Dayz or Tarkov, you pick up corpses from a fragmented world, fight both AI enemies and fellow players, what nourishment remains. However, just like Eve Online itself, it also has the ability to build, establish factions and create even more complex in-game systems.
CCP is building a vast, open-ended creation platform called smart assemblies. In some cases, smart assembly allows you to create in-game infrastructure that other players can use. For example, there is a portal that provides shortcuts from one section of a galaxy to another. However, smart assemblies can also be applied more conceptually. In one video outlining Eve Frontier, CCP explains how a group of players built their own custom King of the Hill competitive multiplayer mode.
The developer’s goal is to provide a wide range of robust toolkits that allow players to build what they want within the Eve Frontier universe. The CCP also hopes that Eve Frontier will be very large. The game has a 20,000 star system that grows to over 100,000 over time.
As it is currently in the pre-release phase, there are two options if you want to play Eve Frontier now. First, you can purchase access via the Founder program. There are three different tiers, priced at $99.99, $69.99 or $39.99 each, each offering a variety of bonuses, including exclusive ship skins and post-frontier subscription times. The second option is to wait for trial access for the next round. CCP does not receive the same bonus as its founders, but regularly acknowledges some applicants for the latest test builds of Eve Frontier.
But now, our founder programs are about to change. CCP has announced Founder Access: New Era, the next phase in the Pre-Release Initiative: New Era. As part of a new era, players are now free to share all information about gameplay footage, personal impressions and in-game experiences without restrictions.
New Era also introduces a seasonal progression system called Cycles. Each cycle introduces new missions and challenges. For each of these you have completed, you will get “great” and climb higher on the leaderboards of each cycle. The first cycle of the Promised Land begins on Wednesday, June 11th. More cycles will be released in the new era of Eve Frontier. If you would like to participate in the Founder Program or wish to name it for trial access, please see here.
Otherwise, we recommend trying some of the other best space games, or trying out the best multiplayer games on your PC.
