Russell Brand pleaded not guilty to charges of rape, sexual assault and indecent assault at a hearing held at Southwark Crown Court in London.
The British actor and comedian have been charged with one count of rape, one count of obscene assault, one count of oral rape and two counts of sexual assault in connection with a case involving four different women that took place between 1999 and 2005.
This is the first time the brand has formally rejected all five accusations against him, which he previously stated in a video posted on social media that he had “never engaged in indifferent sexual activities.”
The actor was released on bail earlier this month and his trial is scheduled to begin on June 3, 2026.
According to the BBC, Brande did not speak to reporters when he entered court this morning (May 30).
After a successful stand-up and broadcasting career, the brand became prominent in 2008 with a role Forget Sarah Marshall, Take him to Greek and Age rock.
The allegations against the brand were revealed in the first published joint investigation Sunday Times, The era and channel 4 dispatch 2023.
